Mckenna Meet-Cutes

Welcome to Mckenna Meet-Cutes, a collection of writing exercises where I create a one-chapter meet-cute (or meet-ugly?) under a set of randomly-generated story conditions: perspective, tone, and setting, with up to three twists—unique circumstances of the FMC, MMC, or setting that give my meet-cute flavor and challenge, such as it’s raining or he doesn’t speak fluent English.

I write these meet-cutes as if they are the first chapter of a complete romance novel. Generally, I stick to the contemporary genre. Why do I write these? Because it wrangles me out of my creative trenches and sparks my imagination. How can I make yet another meet-cute feel new and compelling? How will these characters be unique? For me, it’s fun and rewarding; for you, it’s free reading.

I dedicate significant time and research to these stories because I love creating quality content. If you enjoy these meet-cutes, please consider subscribing. You can find my subscription box in the footer. Enjoy!
